Our history is truly our story. Florida Coast Equipment founded by Dennis Davis and incorporated in January 1985. Operations commenced soon after with Yanmar and Massey Ferguson Tractors. Starting with two employees, our facility on Military Trail had two bays and a small office, which included a parts display area. The journey began just in time for the Spring selling season. We got off to a great start and after about six months, we were able to add a 3rd employee to help with sales and administration. The pieces were falling into place and our dream was taking shape.
In 1989, Florida Coast Equipment was offered a chance to take over the facility of Broward-Palm Beach Tractor, a former John Deere Dealer. Moving to a bona fide facility gave us the respect and sense of permanence that we had been working towards. This opportunity opened the door for Florida Coast Equipment to become the newest Kubota dealer in the South East.
We believed that Kubota could be the impact product that FCE needed to take our dreams to the next level. Since 1990, Kubota has been that and much more. With their cutting-edge technology, reliability and superior performance, Kubota became the engine that has pushed us to where we are now.
In late 1998, we expanded to Naples, Florida. Although Naples is a smaller market, we knew that this location would deliver consistent sales and profitability.
Our next expansion was in 2006 into Martin County but when the great recession hit, we decided to close this location and moved into Ft. Pierce which gave us access to a major market. This move had a dynamic impact on our business and our community relationships.
2006 & 2007 were exciting times for FCE. Both Jason Watson and Todd Bachman joined our family. Jason excelled in our parts department, working his way up to Vice President, while Todd shined in marketing and sales. Under Jason’s watch, our parts department increased significantly as well as our reputation as a provider of quality product support. With Todd joining our sales team, he brought an energy and dedication to an area which desperately needed those qualities.
Late 2019, again presented an opportunity for FCE to expand further north into Brevard County. We purchased Robinson Equipment in Mims, FL in October of that year and quickly began the process of bringing the FCE commitment of delivery superior customer service and unrivaled product support.
In June of 2021, Florida Coast Equipment purchased Gulf Coast Tractor, adding two additional locations in Plant City and Land O’ Lakes, FL, which has made us the largest Kubota dealership in the Southeast and one of the top 5 largest in the country.
